In England, all patients should receive quality assured PR through accredited services or services that are actively working towards PRSAS accreditation, as detailed in the Pulmonary Rehabilitation Commissioning Standards published by NHS England in January 2024.
At the moment PRSAS accreditation is not mandatory for services in Wales, Scotland, or Northern Ireland. However, there has been ongoing increased interest in how we can ensure PR services are efficient and sustainable nationally, and PRSAS provides the ideal framework to support PR services.
