No, a hybrid/virtual PR classes would not meet accreditation standards. The form of PR we have/ are accrediting is the traditional mode of delivery, twice weekly, supervised (face-to-face) for a minimum of six-week duration as this is where the evidence is based. This must be your core mode of delivery.
If you wish to offer the hybrid option as part of a menu of choice, but not the primary option, you can consider delivering it as part of a pilot which can progress to research and help influence the evidence base around PR. Or deliver it as a home exercise programme, but isn’t branded PR. In either case, the pre-assessment and discharge assessment elements must remain as face-to-face, and a practice walk test must be carried out.
