Who should be involved in the accreditation process and improvement work?
It is strongly recommended that the service leads (clinical and non clinical) work together with key representatives of the service to complete the self-assessment. It may also be appropriate to include a patient group representative. It is important to have a cross-section of individuals involved to achieve an accurate assessment of the service and the challenges faced, and to help support ongoing action plans to improve the service. -
What does success look like?
A service that successfully completes the accreditation process is one that has invested leadership, robust clinical governance and operational support, and staff and patient engagement. You will embed quality improvement into your daily activities and discuss improvement and service development on a regular basis. -
