PRSAS 2024 wrap-up
17 December 2024

2024 has been a remarkable year for the PRSAS programme and pulmonary rehabilitation services, and we are proud to celebrate the incredible progress made by our community. With 161 services now registered and an impressive 26 achieving full accreditation, this success reflects the hard work and perseverance of all our registered services.

Congratulations for all of the efforts made toward accreditation and improving patient outcomes. This year, we delivered 30 training sessions, including three impactful sessions during PR Awareness Week. These sessions focused on engagement, workforce planning, and best practice sharing, with 125 attendees joining us in shared learning. Our largest-ever face-to-face training workshop had 53 attendees in 2024, marking a milestone in collaboration and networking. We are already looking forward to hosting our 2025 face-to-face accreditation training workshop!

In addition to training, we have updated the resource library with several new resources including ISWT and strength training standard operating procedures, a PR strategic action plan, a workforce review and a PR service strategic action plan uploaded to our resource library to help services on their pathway to accreditation. To access these, please log in to your assessment dashboard > go to 'My Tasks' > click 'Resource Library'.

We were able to attend many conferences this year, including ARNS, PCRS, BTS Summer and Winter and SPRAG and it was fantastic to meet so many of you this year. It was great to see all of the research presented, and we enjoyed meeting the PR community across the country. As we look toward 2025, we are excited to continue assessments, offer further training opportunities, and conduct a full review of our PRSAS standards.

Thank you for being part of this community – your commitment and hard work are truly making a difference.
